How frequently do coaching sessions take place? Standard practice at On The Up is to have 2 sessions per month, each of 30 minutes. Occasionally, some clients like to start with 2 sessions per month, and then drop back to 1 a little further down the track.

Do the sessions have to take place face to face? Not at all. Most sessions take place via telephone, making physical location an obsolete issue. That said, for clients in the same geographic area, face to face sessions are an option - it's simply a matter of preference.

What are the technicalities of telephone sessions? The client and coach agree which set times will make up part of the coaching relationship. At the predetermined time, the client calls the coach for the session.

How long does coaching last? This depends on the client too. While some clients prefer a short-term partnership, others take a longer-term view and continue indefinitely. There is a minimum of 3 month commitment in the initial stage of the coaching relationship, which exists in order to bring full value to the process - often, after a few weeks, things start to 'move' for clients, and it is beneficial to be coach through them to understand the powerful dynamics involved - thereafter, it can be cancelled by either party with 1 month notice.

How much does it cost? There is a one-off 200 GBP fee for the initial discovery session, which is a 60-minute session that explores the expectations and experiences of a new client. It sets in place the working alliance between coach and client, and helps reach agreement on the most appropriate course of action in terms of meeting clients' goals. Thereafter, the personal investment is 100 GBP per session with fees paid ahead of each session.

I live in another country; is it still possible to work together? Absolutely. It's simply a matter of agreeing a convenient time to call, and options such as Skype, Zoom, FaceTime and WhatsApp all make it easy to manage.

I'm not sure if coaching is for me - can I try it out before committing? Of course. Coaching may not be right for everyone, and it's also important to know if there is a good 'connection' between coach and client. As such, an initial free-of-charge discussion takes place to explore expectations, and what's possible in a co-active relationship. No strings attached: if it works, hire me. If it doesn't, no further action required.

How do I know if my goals will be achieved? Put simply: You're in control. Together, we'll explore what's right for you, and I will hold you accountable to the goals and dreams you set yourself. Whilst it's impossible to say what will unfold, what I do know is this: If you show up, and are committed to your life, things will change. The degree in which they change will depend on how strong your desire is.

Do you offer a money-back guarantee? On The Up is in the business of empowering people to be all they can be - at the end of the initial 3-month phase, if you truly feel that no value has been brought to your life as a result of coaching, I will reimburse the full amount of your investment - no questions asked.

Are the sessions confidential? Yes, 100%. On The Up will not disclose your name to any third party, at any time, without prior written permission. In the highly unlikely event that a disclosure were to become necessary, every effort would be made to obtain permission from you first.

What's the difference between counselling and coaching? Counselling can be seen as empowering clients to move past certain issues in order to be able to function as wholesome individuals in everyday life. While coaching may involve acknowledging the role past events play in the decisions people make today, its focus is very much on where people are going in life, as opposed to where they are coming from.
